We purchased 11 units in May of 2008 and I just wanted you to know that we consider this product to be a big asset to our company. Immediately we discovered our drivers were not keeping within speed limits which in turn caused additional fuel and safety liabilities. We have since reduced our speeds and I have the system set to alert me if any unit goes over a specified speed to which I can immediately get in touch with the driver. We can at anytime identify where our trucks are located and in which direction they are headed and at what speed. I also utilize the idle time alert which has significantly lowered our idle time which in turn again helped out fuel mileage. I have one person set up to also monitor the servicing of our trucks and log in any and all repairs by unit numbers which have help out to insure no duplicate repairs are made as well as monitoring any warranty issues. There are obviously more settings and alerts that could be used, but at this time, these are the primary ones I use and am completely satisfied with the units. Dear Jackie;
I wanted to take this opportunity to let you know how pleased we are with the GPS units that we purchased from you. We now have the opportunity to know where our officers are at any given time as well as how much time they are spending at each of our customers properties. Also, we can monitor their break times to be sure that work time is not being wasted.
We have two particular customers who have requested as part of their contract with us, that we provide them with a print out each week of when our patrolmen patrol their property and how long they are there. With the benefits of this program, the information is at our fingertips. Before we installed the GPS units each officer had to write down the times that they were on a particular property. This system left room for error as well as the information being misplaced.
On occasion we receive calls from customers stating that they have not seen our patrolmen coming through their property, and wanting to know if we are still patrolling their property. All I have to do is log into the system and pull up a landmark report to assure them that our officers are patrolling their property. Before we had the GPS units, all we could do was try to assure them verbally. The GPS units give us credibility as well as helping us to show our customers that the service they are paying for is being received.
